One of the coyotes I've gotten to see here in Yellowstone. The whole time I watched him he never lifted that ear.

Nah, he was perfectly healthy, but it's possible he got in a fight or something in the past that injured his ear.

I never saw any wolves or coyotes when I was in the park in Aug 2011 (made me a bit disappointed). Just saw a caribou, bison and Canadian geese.

Aww, that's to bad. IMO wildlife viewing is far better in winter as well though

Of course, we did see all those city folks trying to get out and get near the bison to take pictures of them. Oh, and there was snow up in Yellowstone a month before we went there.

Up in the roads in Custer State Park near Mt Rushmore, we got stopped by a bunch of bison crossing the road. The bull was on the road, but he wouldn't move until I shut my truck off and kept quiet. Someone else on the opposite side of the herd decided to try and pet one as it went past their car. The bison calf bucked and ran.
