The Western Scrub-Jay, also known as California Jay or Long-tailed Jay is a species of scrub-jay native to western North America, ranging from southern Washington to central Texas and central Mexico.

Today this particular Jay was having a merry time in the sunlit parking lot of a local auto parts retailer. There always seems to be tidbits for them to gather, then rapidly disappear into the nearby hedge.
