You've got this just right. I'm not a purist when it comes to Victoriana and steam-powered lovelies, but the atmosphere of the piece and the details of the vehicle and the dragons is just perfect to me.

Recently helped restore an old Stanley Steamer... Man I love those antiques. Cars with REAL personality.

I enjoy collecting those 1/16th Scale Die Cast metal model cars myself, and I keep telling the folks at the Mint if they ever made a 1912 Stanley, I'd buy it in a heartbeat!

I agree, those are the cars that are forgotten by people. A lot of folks think the ol' Stanley Steamer is nothing but a carpet cleaner. Sometimes the Things you Never Knew Existed catalogues have cool stuff. Sometimes even non-mainstream cars. (Vega? Gremlin? Even a Pinto!)
I wish one of those mints, or even a plastic model company... would make a 1929 Dodge four door sedan. Man, those things were comfy even by todays standards.

Oh? I missed that, but then again I've only been getting the Franklin Mint Catalouge for only two years now. I'll bet they want a "Pretty Penny" for the model too.

Not really, there's one on Ebay right now and bidding is only at about $11.00. It's an older model and not exactly in the box. Still, it's better than nothin'. Here's an example.

You might be pleased to know I cut my Fantasy "Teeth" on Piers Anthony's "Magic of Xanth" novels. I even came up with some "Fan" scenarios involving the characters, but I never had the courage to submit them.

Steam car's are cool, but Stanly Steamer's are the best!

There are some who argue Dobles were the best, but between the Whites, Dobles and Stanleys, I think the Stanleys were the more relyable of the bunch. If you're ever out Colorado way, be sure to visit Estes Park, and see the Stanley Museum there. Otherwise you might have to go all the way to Mane to see a better collection. (You could bug Jay Lenno I guess. He has two Stanleys and an engine.) Kinda like guys arguing if Fords, Chevys or Dodges are best, Steam cars have their share of fans too.
