As much as I love the character and wish I could adopt, I have never done any kind of adoption before and honestly wouldn't really know what to do with him. I wouldn't want the character to go to waste! ;_; So conflicted. How do adoptions work, is it like a secondary 'sona, or just an additional character you have for drawing, making a suit of, etc? For the time being, let someone have first picks, however I am curious about how it all works, since I don't really have a full grasp of all the aspects of furrydom yet

very good questions! different artists have different rules when it comes to adoptables, but the only rule i have is that the buyer doesn't take credit for the original artwork. what they do with the actual character is completely up to them! some people may choose to use the character as a fursona, or they may just be looking for a new character to draw and develop. i've known others who like to buy adoptables simply because they enjoy 'collecting' many different kinds of characters too! as far as i'm concerned, there's no right or wrong way to use an adoptable.

i totally understand (and appreciate!) your concerns about the character 'going to waste' - i don't draw my own characters nearly enough! the buyer is under no obligation to draw/use the character after they've bought it, and i have no rules about re-selling my adoptables either, so if the buyer later decides for whatever reason that they no longer want/can use the character, they're welcome to sell it again for the same price as they bought it :) basically, as soon as i receive payment, what you do (or don't do) with the character is none of my business!
