those textures took forever to get right, and so did the wing,
i used part maker to create the USA35b airfoil from what NACA data i could find,
the "cub" logo and "N" number is on the tail,
this little plane chugs along at just 60Mph but can do some cool stalls and loops,
if you give it a little altitude,
i stole the control panel texture from FS2002 and the side views from a later version cub i found on the net, but for my own personal use,
i own FS2002 and the other plane was freeware.
but i wont share the plane with those textures since i didnt make em.
all the external textures i made though, using Gimp for the window gradient
and MS-paint for the linework and pixel work on the engine and lightning pinstripe (which took FOREVER to get right,)
Zoom zoom! :D
made using an ANCIENT version of X-plane (5.99)

i also have a version i made with floats,
And another i made with lightning bolt wheel fairings
and a 40Hp engine for ultra sluggish but fun flying,
(that one is the most accurate one i made)
i also made a Super cub and with a white and red us coast guard color scheme (i seen a picture of one, they used it as a trainer)
and just for giggles: i built a mini-helicopter version that has
contra-rotating rotors and no wings,
it looks funny as hell, but it does fly,
you need to get it going forwards though or it will quickly start to spin out of control as it has no tail rotor and relies on air rushing past the tail to keep it straight,
i wasn't happy with the nose, but those little dots are as close as i could get to air vents to cool the piston heads, its the way it stretches the texture around the corner that made it difficult, but at least the pixel-art piston heads look alright :D the texture on the fuselage is 1024X512
and the other side has no door (i payed attention to detail)
almost every reference pic i seen had a different shaped engine cowling
so i figured "what the hell?" and settled with this version,
and i ran outta parts before i could put rounded wings and rudder/ elevator tips on,
some things you just cant do in plane maker...
there is only one problem with this plane:
if you go into a dive and go wayyyy past the maximum speed,
the plane will quickly speed way up, veer off course, pitch down, tumble, then it will get hurled into outer space and the sim will crash, its funny to see, but annoying...
i let my little cousin fly it when shes over and she thinks its cute :D
this was the first "real" plane i built in plane maker, before that it was just crazy stuff like rockets and such...

Every summer I make the trip to Old Rhinebeck Areodrome to see the world's most amusing airshow. The briliant pilot Stan Segalla has been doing "The Flying Farmer"act in his Cub
for almost half a century. Now in his 80's, he can still leave you breathless, but sadly he has finally retired.

i seen him on Youtube,
its too bad he retired, i would have loved to see that up close in real life,
but people age, so i guess its best he live out his days in peace,
from what i saw though, his stuff was great!
my grandpa turned 82 las week and he still gets around great ^_^
