When Nikki was but a young teenager, an Inquisitor came to his backwater planet long ago in her search to root out heresy. Once the woman had arrived, it was like a tidal wave. All eyes were upon this fearsome woman, watching her as she worked. Nikki, though, was more curious than afraid. Rather than hide away or tuck his tail between his legs, Nikki approached the Inquisitor during one of her off, relaxing moments and pestered the man with questions of what the Inquisition was like. The questions did not stop for a long while and their discussion continually evolved further into religion and philosophy. Once their discussion was done, the Inquisitor continued with her job of rooting out heresy on the planet.

When this aging Inquisitor was done, she went back to the young boy whose curiosity and intelligence had sparked such a long conversation and offered the boy a chance to train under her as her Acolyte. Nikki, like any other ardent supporter of the Emperor and the Imperial Cult, was happy to take up the offer. So began Nikki's long tutelage under the famed Inquisitor Lord known as Rosea, who carried with her much authority.

Over the years, Rosea taught Nikki as much as she could and the young boy more than proved his worth, as Rosea was shocked by the psyker abilities that the boy possessed on near Epsilon level, if he had the training. Rosea, a psyker herself, helped the boy to hone his abilities and, more than before, saw just how much he could help the Inquisition if he was kept on the right path.

The years continued to pass and Nikki was made an Interrogator for Rosea, but all was not fun and games for the young Inquisitor-to-be and his Mistress. During a battle that saw the two of them, and others along their side, fighting against Chaos Marines, Rosea was killed, but not before she gave the boy her Inquisitorial Rosette. After the battle that had claimed his Mistress, this impromptu appointment was later confirmed by another Lord Inquisitor who held Rosea in high respect, but this decision was not without criticism, given the boy's still relatively young age and his nature as an abhuman.

The newly-made Inquisitor has since courted between the Ordo Malleus and Ordo Hereticus, constantly defying the expectations of some that he would prove himself as a heretic. Nikki himself is neither overly Puritan or Radical, instead seeking mainly to do his job sometimes through the conservative action and sometimes through more flexible means.
