Hermann was a character of mine for Ken Fletcher's ( 
) "Spontoon Island" fanzine. He flies a Finnish I.V.L. A.22 Hansa. The A.22 was a license built version of the World War One German Hansa-Brandenburg W.33 float plane. The emblem on his plane belonged to WW2 Luftwaffe unit 3.(F)/SAGr.125 which flew the Blohm & Voss BV 138, nicknamed the "Flying Clog" due to the shape of the plane.
