Maybe turn down that synth... just a touch. Actually, I really like where this is going, too. I love the whole beginning. That one really grungy synth is just an ear-popper, though. Just moderate the volume on that, and the whole thing will sound a lot more deliberate, as opposed to something that was just "thrown together". Not that this sounds thrown together, but you want to avoid that sound at all costs.

I think this is going to sound awesome, though... Right about where you left off, you should just pull a bunch of loops together in harmony, and then give your counter melody a shot.
