A whole lot of energy in this song. For this cover, I can't say with full confidence that I adapted the instruments as good as they could have been, but when I hear them all play together, they don't sound half bad. I didn't use the triangle or noise channels at all - 100% of the percussion are DPCM samples, 12 of them, which may have been going overkill, but...it is what it is.

No, the Master System had a different sound system. This is the combined Ricoh 2A03 and Konami VRC6 audio chips. And the "high pitched chimes" are meant to simulate orchestra hits. :3 They start out high pitched, then keep moving down octaves really rapidly until they're really bass.
