You all remember that Ferin has a number of suitors, including one that she doesn't like very much. But what about her favorite? Does she a boyfriend she esteems higher than the others? Obviously, the answer to that is yes. Meet Rex (I have no last name for him yet, though maybe all the other characters will simply refer to him as just "Rex" anyway).
Out of all of Ferin's suitors, Rex fits the bill the most: he's gorgeous, filthy rich, charismatic, funny, adventurous, sophisticated, and surprisingly non-snobbish (he's capable of getting along with anyone of any class). Unfortunately, very important things are keeping Rex and Ferin from tying the knot:
1) Rex is very much a male version of Ferin, meaning just as she has a lot of boyfriends, he has a lot of girlfriends. And Ferin (and pretty much everybody else) believes he won't be capable of commitment.
2) Ferin isn't too sure of herself when it comes to commitment either. She likes to believe she could do it, yet she's still afraid of being put to the test.
3) Being an inter-species couple, it would be impossible for them to produce children, and that's why inter-species marriages very rarely happen in Ratropolis (true, inter-species dating happens a lot, but not marriages, and its almost always because of the producing children thing). True, they could always adopt, but Ferin is well aware of the fact that her father wants her and her brother to carry no his legacy through their own offspring. Marrying Rex would prevent that, and as some of you may remember, Ferin is terrified of letting down her father.
Will they end up together anyway, or will it never work out between them? So far, I haven't decided. XD
Fun facts:
For the longest time, Rex didn't exist in my original plans for Ferin, but then I watched this clip from "Oliver and Company" : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JsiAPOTS_b4 (skip to 1:39) Since I already associate Ferin with Georgette, I ended up imagining her having her own "Rex" (which, from what I've heard, is latin for "king", which would suit Ferin just fine), and from there, the character took shape (obviously you can see where I got his name, mustache and scarf, haha).
Of course, I ended up getting other inspirations for my character as well, the most prominent being Rhett Butler from "Gone with the Wind", which in some ways makes Ferin Scarlett O'Hara, haha. But that's where I got Rex's pose from, from the introductory pose Mr. Butler himself got in his movie. I got Ferin's pose from a photo of what I'm guessing was a play, only I don't know what it was: http://sta.sh/05uteu67v70
I also debated on whether to give Rex that little mustache or not (because usually I'm not a big fan of adding on different-colored fur to an animal's head), but in the end decided to go with it anyway. I suppose I can say its just how his whiskers are groomed, lol.

Rex seems to be one suave guy, normally I don't like moustaches on animal characters, it has to be done a certain way for it to appeal to me. Obviously Rex pulls it off :3
I like the clothes you gave him, I don't know something about the blue suit goes great with his fur and the scarf just adds to his overall posh look.
I'm also gonna say that you did a very good job with all the scenery,

Awww, thank you so much for such a lovely comment! :D Heh heh, yeah, I'm with you on "added hair" to animal characters. It always has to be done a certain way for me to like it, and I'm glad you think Rex pulls it off. X)
And yeah, I figured blue would go good with him cuz he's an otter, and both otters and blue are associated with water, so, yeah. Haha. And yes, I figured a scarf would help give him a more unique look if he were compared to all the other guys who vie for Ferin's attention. Rex is supposed to stand out amongst them.
And thanks; the scenery gave me some trouble in the creating process, but overall I was satisfied with the end results. :)

Rex is a regular Clark Gable from the movie alright; so much handsome. :D
And honestly, I've always considered waxed whiskers being a good substitute for furry mustaches. I've debated about adding this feature to my fursona, since it's a trademark of myself in life.
