Darwinism in action
I actually witnessed this today while on the job. Stopped off at a BP gas station to take a piss and briefly warm up. The outside air temperature was MINUS 25 degrees...maybe Minus 40 Windchill.
Stupid girl, maybe 16 years old wearing as you see described. And yes, those are real quotes.
All for fashion.
Even bundled up and layered as I was, I still was cold, I literally couldn't feel my feet and fingers by mid-day, I can't imagine how she felt. Plus she WALKED to that gas station in the extreme cold.
What can you say when its colder outside than inside your freezer!

Ha! I remember the club bunnies in england. So cold that concrete pylons are splitting, and they were standing at bus stops in mini skirts, bare legs and with bare midrifts!
Mind you, coming from Auz, the whole snow thing was like being caught in one of the low-rent bolgias of hell anyway. (we knoweth not this frozen water stuff)
Crap! It's another 40`C day. I hate the heat!
- Ah well - at least there are cicadas!

So I'm less than a human because I like to wear nice clothes? I like to spend some of my hard-earned money on practical, comfortable, good-looking clothing. I like taking time every morning to organize outfits that are unique and trendy. I enjoy being well-groomed and expressing myself through fashion. Are you really so insecure that you get angry at people who care about their self-image? Go buy another ~majestic wolf~ t-shirt.
Style does not have to mean brand name, and it also does not have to mean expensive.
Yes, keeping up with trends just for the sake of it is pointless. But there is a legitimate reason to look into trends also. Your choice of clothes says something about you as a person, and it can help to know just what the contemporary 'language' of style is. What looks professional? What looks casual? What looks conservative? What looks liberal? What looks intelligent? What looks outgoing? What looks serious? You get the idea.
This is what style is about.

Oh God...even though this may come off as a paradox as I'm a foot fetishist....but it's ALWAYS bugged the hell out of me to see girls wearing sandals and flip flops despite it's cold outside...I just feel cold for them seeing them suffer for the sake of fashion...or not planning ahead that Florida does in fact get cold fronts @_@

I believe my response is: "F-F-F-F-FUCK it's c-c-c-cold!"
Felt that way enough here in TX last couple of days. And yes, I was jacketed and gloved... and we're not even in the same NEIGHBORHOOD of cold as you're talking about.

*chuckles8 this brings back memories. hey rabbi. i had something like this happen. uphere in canada it was -25 celius (don`t know the F count for that) anyway. and this guy was standing at a bus stop in a hawaian(sp( tank top, short shorts, sandles, sunglasses some suncream on his nose and was holding a surf board. when i asked why he was doing it he just told me ì`m waiting for the bus son" and walked away as the bus came and alked back into the nearby high school >,> weird guy.
I'm a Californian. Temps under 50 degrees make me take notice. I bundle up.
Often see Gals and Guys wear flip flops and tee-shirts and go bare-legged in weather 50 degree and less. Either a fashion thing or they took their vitamin C tablets to withstand the elements like that. I can't do that.

My hubby can do that, he wears jeans and a T-shirt in all kinds of weather. But he's chubby, and I've noticed a lot of men have higher body temperatures than women, or at least retain heat better in several cases. So I'm not surprised to see them doing that, but girls, yea D: I get cold even when bundled under blankets.
O.o
Have they not heard of fashionable winter clothing?
I mean yea, currently I'm nothing fashionable. I wander around in PJ pants, sweatpants and large T-shirts cuz of the baby and the fact that we haven't had the cash to pick up nice maternity stuff.
But seriously.
There was a girl like this today and I just stared at her and asked 'Are you really that uncomfortable with yourself that you have to dress in that sort of clothing when it's freezing outside?'

Oh yes. I remember these girls from my high school days. Always the pretty, popular ones. I'd be bundled up in thick heavy sweaters, while they run around in the skimpiest clothing possible (usually summer wear, as you've shown) showing off their goodies to the boys, sacrificing warmth for popularity.
to me it seems that ladies' fashionable clothing does anything but keep warm at all. even if they wear long pants, nylons, shoes, shirt and jacket at +10°C you see them walking stiff with their hands tugged in under the armpits. could be because their jackets lack pockets deep enough to bury a hand in...
lats few weeks have been more like -10°C, and you saw the ladies in high boots (and short pants, because the boots were so expensive they couldn't afford long-legged pants it seems) and thixck clothing, and the occasional weatherproof miniskirt-and-nylons and skintight stretch jeans variety. :)

I saw someone the other day all bundled up against the cold, thick clothes, jacket, the works and yet THEY WORE SADDLES which more or less defeats the purpose of the thermalware everywhere else. Fun science fact, most the nerves in your body are located in the hands and feet so it doesn't matter if your dressed up like the next Antarctic expedition if your one step above going barefoot, your going to be COLD!
I see people like this and I just want to yell "You, out of the genpool!"
