I've been getting pretty frustrated and depressed with my style lately. So I figured I'd mess around with other tools and such I liked, I'm really enjoying the crispness of this! Softer tools I normally use are much more forgiving to my sketchy/messy style but that's okay cause the color popping here really shines past messy lines I think.

Messy lines have something to be said for them, they can add character. Too hectic and they can detract from the piece, but personally I think that this is just the right amount of sketchyness. Keep experimenting of course, but I love this and don't think you should doubt your style, and try not to doubt yourself as an artist either. Great work :).
Thank you so much! Actually the style difference I played with in this specific picture is that normally I use soft edged brushes and tools, so this time I used the sharper/cleaner pen line brushes to draw with and I really love how it came out.
When it comes to the sketchiness of my art, sadly that might not be something I can ever change! Due to my health I tend to have painful or shaking hands so in order to draw more freely I've given up on pressuring myself to draw very fine clean line art like I use to and allow myself to just be freer with the motions and leave the sketchiness as a part of the style itself. I'm really glad I could convince myself to move forward with my artwork despite everything!

It's good that you're happy with your work. I wouldn't fret about having shaky hands, I'm not fantastic with keeping my lines straight/controlled so I heavily rely upon the stabilizer tools in Paint Tool SAI and Autodesk Sketchbook. Which basically let's me cheat at getting super smooth line art. I think you'll find a lot of artists have similar issues with shakiness (after all, our hands are put under a lot of stress from constant drawing) and a lot of us have our ways to cheat around that, haha!
But regardless, it doesn't matter. Some of my absolute favorite artist have very sketchy styles. It all depends on what you feel like drawing, and what 'look' you want to accomplish. :).
