So a shark, a wild dog, and a hyena walk into a bar...
...And chill like the awesome beasts they are.

Oh no no no, not like that, I just mean it's not like really my thing personally, but now that you mentioned it, I love Utunu's suit so much for it's stile. I mean, owning a fursuit isn't like on any of my lists, but if a friend had one and I was at a con and they offered to let me use it, I MIGHT, but I'm not sure. Don't really count myself a furry, just hanging around, into some furry things, draw a lot of anthros, and and have MANY, wonderful furry friends, and Utunu is just wonderful, I hope I get to meet up with him and his Yeen some day.
You got some epic suits man! Also, every time I see Utunu's glowing eyes, I think of Dune.

Indeed, I wanted to be a little more professional, so I found a name that fit with my semi-new sona, and it works perfectly with what my alternate name is (for non furry stuff) and my /kind of/ studio name, McKinley Massacre, which I abbreviate McM. If you turn that upside down it's WcW. WestCoastWendigo :3 I AM A TRICKSIE HOBBITS.
And we did, it was fun! It was wonderful seeing you guys again :D

Yay! I know some of my friends were disappointed in me changing my sona....But I didn't' change it just because I felt like something new. Hyena's are my favorite animal, and if I were to be a real animal, I would totally be one, but...I couldn't get over the fact that I really wanted to be a monster of some kind. I considered being a hyena-bat monster hybrid thing, but I'm not a super huge fan of hybrids in that style (technically my fursona now is a hybrid I guess, but not like the other furry hybrids you see around). I've loved all things horror and having to do with monsters and all that since I was a child, and I needed something closer to me than a regular animal!
I know, they're so interesting! I almost chose a werewolf, too, but furries tend to be into that "anthro wolf" form of werewolf, and I'm into the full on monster werewolf thing, so I didn't want that kind of connotation. I like werewolves that are like...like from American Werewolf in London, or the original Wolfman and stuff. Not that crap where it's like just wolves that stand on two legs, or just people that turn into realistic wolves (like that awkward Blood and Chocolate movie, or Twilight ugh). Werewolves, when I was growing up, were supposed to be monsters, not fluffy doggehs!
BUT I DIGRESS. I'll shut up and let you get back to whatever it is you wild dogs do! Hunting I suppose ;)

Ah, so horror movie werewolves! Less huggable ones. ;)
And yes, hunting does take up a lot of the time. But, well, wild dogs are extremely efficient hunters (IRL), so, plenty of relaxation time too!
I actually had a question for you. One of my mates, Keggy (I think you met him), has been wanting to make his own fursuit (I'm sure that's a path just laden with pitfalls!), and the transition from taking one's measurements for a bodysuit to creating the appropriate 'pattern' for it for sewing completely eludes him (and me). Do you have any pointers or some link or info that shows how to determine a basic pattern like that?

Ugh, yeah, taking measurements sucks D: It's how I made all my suits previously. Umm...You know, that actually sort of inspired me to make a possible tutorial for that in the future, even though I really, really prefer people to send me DTDs instead of measurements, specifically because measurements are so difficult to make a suit with (so many things can go wrong!)
Is there any way he could make a duct tape dummy? Because that would make making his own suit way easier, especially if it's his first suit. It would take a way a lot of the issues I'm sure plain measurements would give.
I know Matrices has an awesome DTD tutorial. I might make one in the future too, so I can be more professional, instead of sending everyone to someone else's site XD I love Matrices though.
If he can't do a DTD though, I'm sure I've seen some good tutorials on YouTube for how to make bodysuits. I'm also a part of #FursuitAssist on DeviantART if he wants to visit that, they have some awesome tutorials, for making everything! I uploaded some tuts a while ago, but I need to update them, ugh...I haven't been on DA in so long, and just fairly recently discovered some even better ways to do things that I'd love to share with people on there. When I'm done with my current commission, I'm definitely going to spend some time doing updates...

Oh, a DTD is no problem! By measurements I meant a DTD. He's just still confused as to how to go from that to the sewing pattern, however. How do you decide where to put the seams for all that, etc.
I can certainly look for some tutorials... is Matrices' one how to do a DTD, or how to go from a DTD to a pattern? Because we've done DTDs before.

Yeah it was just for a DTD, sorry for that misunderstanding!
So what I do is pattern with fleece. I know it sounds super weird, but it's how I've done my suits for about 2 years now. Hmm, I need to find a way to explain this...The next personal suit I make, I am totally making a tutorial for, so I can explain it in pictures XD
I like to lay pieces of fleece down on the DTD (I also do this for my heads) and pattern it off of that. Like, generally I do seams like you find in normal clothes, such as the shoulder seams and seams down the side. The crotch area and legs can be a little more difficult though. The fleece works out well though, because you can then, instead of taking measurements, take your cut piece of fleece and trace it onto the fur to cut out in that perfect shape. You waste a lot less of fur that way too.

That's a pic of how I pattern on my heads. A lot of the seams are generated just from the use of different colours, but of course you have to have certain other seams as well, such as down the sides, etc.
I'm not sure how else to explain it without more pictures unfortunately D:
