Ok...so this picture might have got away from me a bit.
Initially this picture started off as an impromptu doodle just for the sake of practice, but after feeling pleased with how the face came out I decided that the pose was too generic, so I redrew the pose and body layout. However, at that point I felt like it would be worth adding a background to give some context which lead me to chat a bit with
Doombox and
Kotep about scenarios. But of course in adding a background it prompted me to want to ink it, where I was then compelled to flesh out the inking to try to add shadows. The inked version felt too nice to simply go uncolored though so I took it to Photoshop to run a flat palate over the image. Though around the point I moved the image to Photoshop to color it I was reminded of a city scape speed paint tutorial that gave some techniques I had been itching to try...leading me to detail out the buildings in the background. But now the background was all detailed and the foreground and Breanne were left in flat color, I couldn't have that! This left me to shade it and realize the lighting was important and that I really wanted to make sure that picture's overall atmosphere blended together, so I played with more things...
And so here's the result, as well as a bit of insight as to how some of my pictures become fully colored works, at least on occasion. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy it, I definitely felt it was worth the practice in the very least!
