Don't be too hard on yourself. You have to start somewhere. Yeah, it sometimes feels like you're bashing your head against a brick wall. And it sometimes feels like you're mired deep in a gooey mud patch, unable to advance no matter how hard you struggle. But your efforts do pay off, you learn and develop. Cripes, though, its murder to look at your old drawings again. If you're not flinching, you're embarrassed, especially if you're looking at something that got published. I look at my old stuff from the 1970s and wonder how the hell I ever thought I could draw. But that comes with the territory a cartoonist lives in. You do good work, Sonderjen, people like it, and that's what really counts in the end.
