I have an obsession with the idea of the phoenix. Less the actual creature, and more what it represents. I used to draw dozens and dozens of them, little strange elfin bird creatures on fire. Time has no real meaning for them - their version of immortality owes more to renewal and new life than continued existence, so I see them as more free...

And I rather like the little pocket she's got on her wings.
