I joined the group Creature-Exchange (on dA) and decided to participate in January's exchange!
I got kevintheradioguy(dA) and his prompt. She was fun drawing/designing.
I know the human form is a good deal more sketchy than the feral one, buuuut I do extremely hate lining, and even the leopard is rather roughly lined. Sorry about that!
1 - What parts of your prompt were written well and easy to understand? Was there anything the writer of the prompt could improve on or include next time they create a prompt?
I think most of it was easy to understand, but certain parts could have used a little more clarification. Either way, it was full of good things for ideas and useful info for the design.
2 - Please explain how you interpreted the prompt to create your design. Which features did you use? Did you stick to the chosen palette or make changes to it? Does the design you created have any special abilities or quirks?
When I first read the "ginger" and "werewolf" and saw that there was an openness for other species, I jumped pretty quickly to get away from the typical "werewolf" character, since those are so popular these days. I considered a red panda, but when I thought about the desired freckles, my mind went to things with spots. I ended up landing on a leopard--amur leopard, to be exact. I decided that the color variation of strawberry would be just what I needed to make the design the desired color of "red," to match the "ginger" hair. Also, I just love unusual animal colorations.
The suggestion for sharp fangs on the bottom of the jaw, instead of the top, actually gave me an idea that maybe she was hit in the jaw or something, making her larger, bottom, canine teeth jut out a bit more, once it healed. Her ears [in human form] also have a little extra length to them (though aren't really pointy cause leopard ears are more rounded), plus some tufts of fur at the ends.
I gave her a simple, flowing dress that is easy to take off--for when she wants to shape shift--and easy to put on--because I'm sure being blind would make it a challenge to get dressed with tons of accessories, etc. She probably would wear pants, shorts, etc., not just dresses--y'know, whatever makes her comfortable. Also whatever's easiest to kick butt in--cause that's a desired trait, too. Those heels may be harder to run in (not that she can't just take them off and be happy going barefoot--though I can also picture her in sandals or slip-on shoes), but they can definitely hurt if you get kicked in the face with them!
The sunflower idea was taken on as a tattoo [based off a few I'd found searchin' around], and welp, I hope she has enough warm colors, ahah.
Overall, I think I used most of the features listed. I attempted a "flat chest" for her, but I think she came off as more "small breasted" rather than "nearly no breasts" -- which may be what was meant by that, lol.
That is all.
