Every so often, a new character just comes barging into my head with a name, look, and personality already in place and just begs for his or her story to be told. I usually end up having the most fun with these guys. Meet my newest intruder. :)

The main thing about Bashful is that he most definitely -isn't-. He's bold, very bold. Don't double dog dare him if you're thinkin' he won't take you up on it, because he WILL. He's certainly not as haughty or argumentative as Arty, but he's definitely a pistol in his own right.

Bashful is what is known as a harmony yumar, or, as he jokes, a "euphanism for 'deformed'". Harmony yumars are a genetic mutation; yumars are rather prone to defects/mutations, although harmonies aren't one of the more common ones. Yumars are a dying species as it is, so there's a lot of family politics/arranged marriages and the like involved, not a good situation.

Harmonies are named for their two tails. Well, it's actually one, but it forks for about 3/4th of the length. Male harmonies have two fins, females have four, as opposed to the normal one v. two with atypical yumars. :)

I had fun with Bashful's lil' chained nose and ear studs-- they're sposed to be an emerald and a garnet.. Arty n' my birthstones. :)
