“What are your orders, my master…?”

“Leomon, I grow bored of this ‘rookie’ fare, their mindless battles against one another, however amusing, has grown quickly old.”

Boz, in his emperor guise, sat slouched in his chair before the many glowing screens suspended before him. Each depicting a different sector of the digital world, most currently focused upon the black spires to assure him they were still standing, safe.

Upon one of these screens Simba, or rather his Leomon form, would be seen standing, quite rigidly, awaiting his next orders.

”What is it you would like me to do?” an emotionless voice inquired, almost sleepily, as if in a daze.

“Bring me a champion, such as yourself, A dark ring may not be enough to control him, but I have perfected another way…” With a devilish smile the tiger would hold up a spiraling dark ring in a gloved hand.

“Yes, my master.” Simbas mesmerized voice would reply, before his image would vanish from the screen as he departed to do his masters bidding.

With the devilish grin still in place, Boz would entwine his fingers together beneath his chin. Eyes obscured by the digitized shades he wore thin slights as the malicious delight spread upon his face.

“What a wonderful collection I’m going to have…and this is only the beginning.”

I love the digimon emperor/Ken…he’s awesome in so many ways.

I began work on this in November actually, which is ironically around the time I usually watch the digimon S2 episodes, at least up to Kens ‘rediscovering’ himself and wormon, as it was. The episode ‘Genesis of Evil’, which would be an entirely inappropriate title if it didn’t include how Ken became the digimon emperor, is pretty damned deep for a cartoon, least I always thought so. Even if I fail to watch some of the other episodes (I generally skip the ones without Ken) I always watch that one. Call me a sap, but it really brings forth a human element as well as the bond of the digimon with their destined child in a way that’s pretty believable for fantasy. As Wormon said, though Ken got a little lost along the way, he was still kind and gentle deep down, and always would be. Though admittedly I missed the digimon emperor as a villain, I enjoyed it a lot more when he joined the team of digidestined…even if Davis (for all HIS shortcomings) was the only one behind it initially.

But my nerd babbling aside, I am so, so SO very grateful to  KuragariHusky for commissioning this, pushed me to do something more with the concept. As well, I’m always honored when someone thinks highly enough of any of my concepts/characters to actually pay me to continue with them in some fashion…honestly that will always blow my mind.

and at some point ZI hope to not only continue this, but to do something with the real Ken art wise too.
