Weather's been rather harsh here an abouts an lotsa critters comin' down with colds an flus... so a'course yer crazy ol' werewolf had ta whip up another batch'a his various chilies... always a welcome treat ta warm yer bellies on cold nights :)
Now... last time I made some I'd tried omittin' some ingredients ta appease a few allergies but this time, since I made this batch specifically fer m'self I went an made it more m'own tastes so if ya don't like peppers or can't take spicier foods then yer probably gonna have ta hunt down milder and/or other alternatives... an even so this batch isn't THAT particularly 'hot/spicy' by a few others standards... so as with most dishes use ingredients ya think'll be best suited ta what'cha prefer... :)
Now... havin' said all that.... here is what went inta this particular batch of chili:
1 & 1/2 lbs. ground beef chuck
1/2 lb. of Jimmy Dean's sausage ( I used regular but again go with yer preferences ta how hot/mild ya want the sausage)
4 stalks of celery (diced)
1 small can of mushrooms
1 large white onion
1 small jar of spaghetti sauce (this one was garlic & herb)
1 can of diced tomatoes
4 tops from 4 bell peppers (used the 1 green, yellow, orange & red peppers. cored then top sections diced)
1/4 cup of sriracha sauce
instructions:
In a large pot combine all the canned an jarred sauces with diced veggies and set on medium heat. stirrin' ocassionally as ya fry up the sausage an hamburger (I fried mine seperately ta give the veggies in the sauce more time ta cook) add meats an continue ta stir ocassionally till all veggies are cooked ta preferences then turn ta simmer on low till ready ta serve...
The sriracha sauce, when diluted with the other sauces, looses much of it's sting but still retains enough 'heat' ta keep ya pleasantly warmed but if ya prefer hotter/spicier chilies then feel free ta use hotter ingredients.
Served this up with club crackers (as shown in bottom pic) but again feel free ta use yer own preferences... an enjoy! :)
