I would have totally thought that too! And it's a super cool idea to look at them like scars, but I think they're just a rep of how most Jasper stones have streaks of other colors running through it. Which its cool that she made Malachite and Malachite has the streaks too, because in real life Malachite has those color rings in it naturally.

i gotta start looking at stones. Its just that the jaspers in Garnet's flashback and Pearls flashback to the war dont show them having it. And id love to think that Jasper is the only one like her.

she was having on earth. Technically, they were both owned by Yellow Diamond.

Jasper, wife-material? Not hardly. She's a BRUTE. A mindless killing-machine more at home on the battlefield than anywhere else. I mean, she IS a Quartz... the warrior-elite of the Homeworld Gem caste-system. Kinda makes me GLAD that Rose Quartz was atypical of her gem-caste.

Jasper is a Quartz Gem, and Quartzes are the generals and warrior-elite of the Homeworld Gem caste-system. A caste-system so rigid, the fusion of a highborn seer and a common foot-soldier was seen as abhorrent. An abomination. A caste-system in which Amethyst is an "overcooked runt" and Pearl is defective arm-candy. A caste-system overseen by tyrants who'd rather see the universe wiped clean of Earth, MY EARTH, than leave well enough alone because of a six-thousand-year-old grudge.

I've no love for Homeworld Gems. You can imagine my surprise and delight, then, when Peridot called Yellow Diamond a clod. TO HER FACE.

Not sure why you're telling all that to someone who openly loves Jasper.

I support Sugar's statement on how ' no character in the show is all good or all bad'. There are characters I don't like, like Lapis Lazuli who I see as a selfish, sadistic, and problematic gem, but I would never go and say that to someone who was praising her or talking about how great she is. I think that would be rude and uneccesary of me.

Lapis is a broken teacup... a tool to the Homeworld, a POW to the Crystal Gems, and a friend to our little buddy Steven, who loves everybody just like his mom did. And hooboy, did she consign herself to a Hell On Earth when she fused with Jasper to become the malformed monster Malachite.

I can't say Jasper didn't have it coming... Bee Tee Dubs, you can love any character from this series ya want. I'm just spittin' truth here- Jasper is a brute. Yellow Diamond is a tyrant. And I hate brutes AND tyrants.

But ya know somethin' I just thought of? "Blood Orange" is a good nickname for Jasper... on account of her coloration and status as a "Blood Knight," IE someone who enjoys battle for its own sake.

Keep your 'truth' off my page then, please. I could do without the uneccesary commentary on why I shouldn't love the things I do, it's totally out of line. I share things I love to find common interests, and for those that also love it to enjoy it. Not for you to go out of your way and cut down something I was initially really excited about. That's fine that you don't like her, but allow me the same respect I'm giving you here by not shoving my views down your throat and telling you that I'm just spittin' truth.

I love her design and the idea of her personality/views changing like Peridots did and that's what I hope will happen in the show. I don't really dig homeworlds crappy opinions or Jasper's brainwashed soldier agenda. But I relate to Rose a lot and the whole running gig about her is how she has more patience and love for everyone than most people. Or hope that they can change, yaddayadda.

Rose was awesome... and that awesomeness lives on through her baby boy Steven. ^w^ And who knows? Maybe Lapis' hold on Malachite will wane and Jasper will come back to haunt the Crystal Gems... and be won over by that goofy little afro-cherub like Peridot was. That would indeed be awesome.

More to life than being a warrior without peer? The Devil, you say! Kinda like how Peridot discovered there's more to life than being a cog in Homeworld's grand designs.

While Jasper is not really my favorite, I'm really excited to see more about her backstory! She certainly is one of the more mysterious gems, well besides the diamonds of course.

Have you ever thought of taking a crack at the diamonds? Like taking a shot at what white or pink diamond looks like, since we haven't really seen them yet? I think that would be really interesting ^^
