Chaplain of the Sons of Prithm~
I purposefully-designed this guy like this, and even I can't help but call him a queer :V
So this is the most colorful, and most compromised, model in my Sons of Prism army x3 Originally, he was supposed to be a chaplain with a storm bolter and lightning claw (the signature melee weapon of the chapter). But, I had no hand-held storm bolters left, and I had no lightning claws that looked good with this pose, so I instead chose to give him a spear (the OTHER melee weapon of the chapter, wielded by their champion and a couple cavalry sergeants).
BUT, after the champion, said sergeants, and some assault marines, I'm plum out of spears 8D So I went with a Nemesis Halberd...but I had no one-handed variants left, so I had to carefully shave the second hand off of it, ect. ect. ect.
Anyway, I'm happy with how this guy eventually turned out x3 This is Chaplain Xolotl. As far as fluff goes, he's actually Librarian Quetzecoatl's brother, and attaches himself to the mutant ranks of the SoP, to watch over them and lead them in prayers, as well as monitor their purity. Unable to keep up with their serpentine and feline forms, he always goes to battle with a special jump-pack and watches over them from on-high.

Looks pretty awesome. Though, with the Imperium's technology... Plasma weapons always beat Bolters...
Sadly the Imperium might mass-produce Plasma weapons, but they purposely hoard them giving them only to the proven.
As such, I'm not surprised your soldiers don't equip them.
Flamers are an alternative weapon, in which they are of an alternate scale than Firearms and used for completely different weaponry.

Say, might I ask, what's your view on the Tau Empire, Eldar CraftWorlds, and the mysteriously vanished United Terran Directorate?
I honestly like the Tau Empire and their obsessive desire to maintain peace and alliance with all peoples possible. As a people dedicated against war and dedicated to peace between life, they seem like nice folk. They never even initiated a single attack against any other species of the series through the series, constantly on the defense in every War and Conflict.
I honestly like most Eldar CraftWorlds. They all seem like good folk, most CraftWorlds are arrogant, proud, and cocky, but it doesn't change every last one of them is dedicated to a greater good, for not only their own CraftWorlds, but ensuring the lasting survival of life through-out the Universe. As a result, the Eldar are in constant war for eradicating specifically Daemons and Necron, but not towards life otherwise even when said life is foolish enough to sacrifice their lives for either of those beings. My favorite CraftWorld though would probably be Ulthewe, which is sadly in ruin. They valued life both elder, human, and tau, and even lesser beings like orks, kroot, and gretchin.
I tend to have a strong hatred towards the Imperium, and its many Imperial Guards and Space Marines. They are a mirror opposite of the United Terran Directorate. While the UTD is dedicated to maintain and growing the wealth, power, and control of Terran Dominion across the universe, whether through war or peace, the Imperium is dedicated to eradicating all life, human and not, across the universe, until the only thing left to do is perform a mass-suicide to fuel their God-Emporer's Final Ascension. I like the idea of human prosperity over human extinction. I like humans living in peace and alliance with aliens rather than eternal war and conflict to achieve genocide. As the UTD established permanent peace and alliance with all Eldar Craftworlds prior to the Imperium's existence, and they laid Ork-kind low back then... ending large scale wars with them... the UTD had great accomplishments, and their deemed collapse and destruction which led to the Imperium's founding is probably the worst of tragedies to befall the WarHammer40K universe.
That, and we must admit, standard issue arms and armors and commonplace vehicles and crafts made by the UTD are called sacred relics of war by the Imperium, if anything, the UTD is more capable of saving humanity from Xenos, Daemons, and Necron than they as they are technologically superior to the Imperium, and had a population over 10,000 times the size of the Imperium with humans alone.
