I lived in DE for a few years, and my mother's entire family lives there (my great grandmother lives in a 200+ year old house, on a road named after the family near Viola, DE).
It always makes me giggle when people ask me where Delaware is (thinking it's a city). I know that DE doesn't have much going for it, but they are the FIRST state, so people could devote a few braincells to remembering that it's a state.

Well, it actually is the first state, so says http://delaware.gov/
http://www.netstate.com/states/intro/de_intro.htm claims:
"On December 7, 1787, Delaware, became the first state to ratify the United States Constitution."

The state flag actually shows the date they became a state. Let them have the one claim to fame, they have nothing else.

I'll give you a hint: IT'S VERY SMALL. :O
I live about a half hour away from the Rhode Island border... you can literally drive across the whole thing in less than thirty minutes, and all the way from the Massachusetts border to Long Island Sound in about one hour.
I'm not used to large states!
