Fun fact, I've actually been to Delaware a good deal more than I've been to RI, but while I've driven myself to RI, I've only ever gotten to Delaware by climbing in the car with my parents and dozing off. :]

My grandfather lives in Delaware, right across the bay from Ocean City.

I lived in DE for a few years, and my mother's entire family lives there (my great grandmother lives in a 200+ year old house, on a road named after the family near Viola, DE).

It always makes me giggle when people ask me where Delaware is (thinking it's a city). I know that DE doesn't have much going for it, but they are the FIRST state, so people could devote a few braincells to remembering that it's a state.

Delaware's claim as the first state is the 18th century equivalent of claiming the first comment on a slashdot article. :B

The state flag actually shows the date they became a state. Let them have the one claim to fame, they have nothing else.

We knew it was a state. It was actually confusion based on how far north it was. And we're both from Pennsylvania, so it's not like it's THAT alien. :X

I live about a half hour away from the Rhode Island border... you can literally drive across the whole thing in less than thirty minutes, and all the way from the Massachusetts border to Long Island Sound in about one hour.

Hey I don't blame you guys for not knowing where RI is. IT'S SO FUCKING TINY. (in fact for a long time I thought CT and RI were swapped, and I lived in northern MA for most of my life)

Ugh... this reminds me of that horrible US geography quiz we had in 7th grade... had a blank map, had to identify the states and their capitals. It was obnoxious!

People need to be more Del-aware. HA H I am ashamed already.
