Actually there is a reason for the lack of armor.

When I was developing the characters, I thought it be interesting if the offensive and defensive power was one pool or resource. So the more armor they have on, the less power for offense. A tug of war or balance.

Their armor, weapons, and such come from the magic/energy fueled nanomachines like things called manabots in their bodies. The Manabots are reversed engineered alien tech with mysterious reality altering and almost limitless potential.

Its a bit of a magic meets science. =3 (meets magical girl sort of lol)

you should get some pics/sketches from an artist at some point of them in a couple diff combat poses. i.e. stuff that'll show how this works (generating full frontal sheilds, etc)
it's a pretty cool idea. ^^

I actually have a number of pictures/commissions (mostly on DA) of them in various poses with their basic armor. (should add more on their abilities and such) I probably need to make a folder/collection of it for those who are interested.
