This is one of those pieces that popped into my head and then just started eating away at my brain until I started working on it. At which point it started screaming and howling to be finished lest it start lighting my synapses on fire.

So I was left with the choice to either work on it a bit every day until it was finished, or go insane. Finding myself content with my current level of insanity, I opted to finish the piece and deem it worthy enough to act as the cover art for the eventual first issue of the ConQuest of the Aerolith-Mortis comic.

I'm actually really proud of how this turned out. Little bit of experimentation, little bit of the good ol' colorin' style, a few new tricks here and there. I think I captured the mental image I had of the piece fairly well. I especially like the way the explosion came out.
