Stone, who is a Gastonia, by the way, is shaping up to be an interesting character. He's the bard/priest of the group, and takes many of his cues from stories. He's therefore introduced a very meta element to Mark of the Conifer, and damn near leans on the fourth wall. I've never written anyone with a meta element before, but I blame reading deconstruction of The Dark Tower and my subconscious for mixing it with dinosaurs.
