The Hypnotic HoopaIn a secret meadow yet discovered by man, the two Eon Pokemon Latias and Latios were frolicking with one another. Neither of them knew that they were being spied upon by a devious trickster from behind a tree. A Hoopa in her Confined Form had her heart set on causing mischief upon the unsuspecting brother and sister. She lay in wait for the appropriate moment to land her very special ability on the duo, grinning widely as she was thinking her devious thoughts.
Hoopa waited for five more minutes until she noticed that the siblings were about to leave to places unknown. She quickly emerged from her hiding spot with her left hand held up. Her sinful smirk grew wider as a golden yellow ring appeared from her raised hand. She threw it towards the two and another ring swiftly formed in her hand to replace the first one. The ring glided through the air like a discus, hitting Latias in the neck. Instead of causing damage, it attached itself around her neck like a fashion accessory.
Both Latias and Latios reacted in surprise and the female Eon took a firm hold of the ring, trying desperately to take it off. Latios looked around at his surroundings, an expression of anger washing away his shocked one. It didn’t take long for him to notice the sneaky Hoopa who was throwing more of her golden rings at them. Latios managed to evade but only barely as the rings whizzed past him and hit his sister, attaching themselves to her wrists and ankles.
Latios glanced at Latias with concern before glaring at Hoopa, unsure whether to help his sister or attack their assaulter. Hoopa laughed in a mocking tone at him, enticing him to attack. That was all it took to push Latios into choosing to strike Hoopa instead of helping his sister, whom was still struggling to remove the rings from her body. Latios opened his mouth wide and started to power up one of his deadliest moves – Dragon Pulse.
Even though she was faced with a powerful foe, the scheming smirk never left Hoopa’s mug. She crossed her arms and let out a louder and even more contemptuous chortle. Latios growled, mere seconds away from unleashing his attack to teach the smug Djinn a lesson she wouldn’t forget.
However, before the might blow was struck, Latios was hit in the back with tremendous force, knocking him to the ground and cancelling his Dragon Pulse. It took a few seconds for him to fully regain himself and levitated back up. Rubbing the sore spot at the back of his head, he turned around to see who had launched such a sneaky assault.
It was Latias, and she had a wide grin that matched Hoopa’s, shockingly just as devious too. Her eyes were glowing a golden yellow as were the rings she was now more than comfortable with wearing. The blue Eon had never seen that look on his sister’s face before; it sent an unnerving shiver down his spine. Even when she was pulling her practical jokes, there was always a sense of lightheartedness in her complexion. This time, however, Latias looked like she had a sinister scheme plotting in her mind.
Latios knew the source of Latias’s personality change almost instantly. With his rage returning, Latios swirled around and gave the nasty Hoopa an intimidating glare. There was one thing that he hated above anything else – if anyone, no matter who they were, messed with his sister in any shape or form, he would make them pay. He knew Latias would attack him while his back was turned, but it was a risk he was more than willing to take. He exhaled a Dragon Breath at Hoopa, but unfortunately for him the shifty enslaver of minds evaded it by flying higher into the air.
Latias took the opportunity to slam her head into her brothers back with a Zen Headbutt. Though it was not very effective Type-wise, the strength she put into it whacked him headfirst into the tree. If his newly-acquired throbbing headache wasn’t bad enough, Latias laughing mockingly at his agony was only pushing his anger towards Hoopa even further.
A glimmer of light appeared in the corner of his eyes. He looked at where it was coming from just in time to see golden rings whiz in his direction at an impressive speed. He gasped in shock as they hit his neck, ankles and wrists just like they did with his sister, becoming glittering accessories.
Latios went into a panic, grabbing hold of the ring around his neck and pulled at it with all his might. During his futile attempt at removing the mind altering rings, the cruel laughter from Latias and Hoopa got louder and louder. He drew his attention to Hoopa, opening his maw wide to blast her with a Dragon Pulse, but Latias flying up to protect her put a stop to his retaliation.
Despite the troubling situation he was in, Latios could not help but put a tiny, barely noticeable smile on his face. His fury over his sister's enslavement and Hoopa’s endless mocking was getting less and less infuriating. In fact, he was starting to believe the Hoopa’s attitude, as sinister as it may have first seemed, wasn’t near as bad as he was making it out to be. He did not notice that his rings were shining brightly, working their magic on his mind.
Latios’s tiny smile curled up into a grin, his lips parted just enough to show off his teeth. While his eye pupils turned into a golden yellow, some of its original colour still remained. He knew his mind and way of thinking was under attack and was changing significantly to suit the needs of a villainous Pokemon, but he no longer cared at this point.
Out of the two Eon siblings Latios was the most serious. He was the type of person that rarely showed any signs of humour and frequently had to tell Latias off for her childish behaviour, much to her dismay. He was beginning to hate what he was and, though he was respected by his peers for his mature nature and good deeds, he wanted to throw it all away to become a hardcore prankster and troublemaker.
Latios’s pupils completely vanished and now his eyes were entirely a luminous golden yellow. His grin was wider and he opened his mouth to let out a devious laugh.
