Hey thanks for the critique! We are always looking for ways to improve UberQuest, it's our first big project ever so we are still learning lots of things.
I will admit, Claire is the hardest character to write for. I've always had issues trying to balance her out - while I feel we've gotten a bit better since the beginning of the comic, there is still room for improvement.

Sure. This is just one reader's perspective and meant to be constructive!
With Claire, my impression is that she has a couple of opposing constellations of character traits. One grouping of traits relates to vulnerability, social awkwardness, and isolation. These seem to start with her history of solo work in a lab and is increased by her unique place as the only one from her time and place in the UQ world. Another set is bravado, cockiness, and impulsiveness, these are expressed both in social and sexual ways. Finally, there is the aforementioned genuine compentancy with technical and mechanical things. As opposed to her cocky attitude in other things, this could be a real place of confidence.
When it's not clear that her cockiness is probably not based on experience and is a cover for her fears, then the character loses cohesion. She ends up seeming like a bro rather than the more fully formed character shown in other scenes. Further, a contrast between genuine confidence doing what she knows how to do well and the awkward compensation for her social deficits could be a way to deepen her character if handled well, or confusing if not.
She might be the most complex of the UQ characters, so there's a lot to juggle. I look forward to seeing how she evolves.

I am sure that bit of dark humor with the arm is going to come back to haunt them later as it has been established that this comic is not as comedic as the first few pages may have led us to believe and that every action has a consequence like when Kibbles burnt that one guy to ashes, despite it being shown in a comedic manner.
