Gift art for a good friend I have recently grown closer to! This is one of my favorite characters of hers, his name is Quill. After Shorty showed me what a realistic Quill would most look like (she sent me a music video with a guy that looked exactly as she would have imagined Quill to look) I decided I really wanted to try to draw him. For my own fun, as well as a little gift for Shorty!

Most importantly however, this was good practice for humanoid faces as well as hair/shading. I don’t think I have drawn hair this way before, and it was fun really getting into it (Shorty does her hair in her detailed images SO beautifully ;0; )

I have discovered that a quite enjoy drawing humanoid faces. My only issues in the past happened to be that I would often be trying to draw a human in my style while I look at a reference of the character drawn in a very different style, and it would REALLY throw me off. The solution is to interpret the character my way, or to simply find a real person that looks most similar.
