Although this is a sad site to see .. judging by the size of the trunk this was a fine old tree but its not been pulled down owing to the amount of earth still clinging to its roots, and i was told by the garden tour guide that they are re-using as much wood to make a fence near the lake and what they can't use they will chip and use for the forest walk paths ..
