Okay let me just say this OC is quite possibly the oldest one I have. He has been in existence since 5th-6th Grade. This lands him at a whopping 10-11 years old! And I honestly don't think I've ever made him a proper reference.. But that ends now! He may not be the most complex design but he has one hell of a history and is one of my most important and favorite Ocs. Now I will give some background on the character and some more facts I didn't slap on the ref sheet.

Background: (if you don't want to read it skip the italic text)
Blade was born as a dragon, a frost dragon to be exact, on snowy island. A genetic mishap gave him melanistic traits. This resulted in nothing but hardship as every other dragon saw him as a freak and unnatural, he couldn't possibly survive in a snowy environment with dark colors. His father specifically targeted him and constantly was trying to kill him, seeing him as a mistake and was disgusted to be related to him. Fast forward a few years of struggling and surviving on scraps and the secretive attention from his mother and older brother he is attacked and nearly killed, his arm nearly being ripped off. Left bleeding to death in the snow, malnourished and completely alone a human stumbles across him.
This human was a doctor and used her skills to patch him up, barely managing to save his life. Blade's arm now had a massive scar going all the way down it and his ear had a hole from being punctured. (His "piercing") The human nursed him back to health over the course of a few months. During this time Blade tapped into a shape shifting power most dragons have that allow them to blend in among humans. In a form he finds far more comfortable after the treatment he received as a dragon he begins to refer to himself as a "half dragon", as he is feels split between his two forms. Staying in the form the human takes the role of a foster mother, gives Blade his name and raises him as her own, training him in her ways.
Later in his life he finds he has a very special power that worked hand in hand with his desire to help people: The ability to heal. It started small; he could only heal simple cuts and bruises, but as he worked with it he was able to heal much more. He noticed that the injuries were occasionally transferred to him, while most of the time he only received the pain. On one occurrence with a severe eye injury he pushed himself too far and while the patient was left with perfect vision, Blade was left needed glasses for the rest of his life. After this he trained very hard to make it so he had far more control over his ability, only getting the pain temporarily... though if tries to heal too big of an injury it is very likely he will receive more than the pain.
When Blade became 16 he decided he wanted to travel and help those in need, knowing far too many people couldn't afford proper treatment. Having studied under a certified doctor he could offer the same quality treatment as most health clinics and hospitals, and with his powers even more. Bidding his foster mother farewell he set off.
However, he didn't take into account the fact he would need to cross the land his father and the clan he was born to called home. Despite being in human form, he was recognized instantly. He was attacked once again, but now that he was older he was willing to defend himself. Unskilled in combat he fought sloppily and barely made it out... but his lack of skill and fear resulted in him accidentally dealing a fatal blow to his father. His father died before Blade could get the chance to save him. His mother proceeded to lay next to her fallen mate, overcome with grief her frail heart ceased beating. Blade fled his home distraught by what he had done. The guilt of this haunts him to this day. His brother does not hold the deaths against him and still cares about him.
He now travels from town to town, surviving on odd jobs, tips from those he's helped and various nursing jobs.

And that about sums up his major backstory. So here are some tidbits about that aren't on there:
*His boyfriend is literally the devil, Lucifer himself (belongs to acidhybrid)
*He has an erogenous zone at the base of his spine
*Being a masochist means he loves to be hurt, but his favorite thing is being choked
*Being in his full dragon form actually takes more effort now than it did in the past. It also makes him uncomfortable
*He has a pet Italian Greyhound named Dodger
*He often leaves major hospital jobs after healing a patient in critical condition with his power so he isn't caught

and that's about it so I don't completely bore anyone with his entire life :P
