*Not* a how-to drawing for a change! Kind of. The sketch started out with an outline of how to draw Little Orphan Annie, from the comic strip that ran from 1924 until nearly fifty-five years after anybody stopped being interested in it. But the figure for Annie struck me as near enough to
plaidfluff's charming critter character to be easily adapted and what do you know but it was.
Also particularly challenging: how to draw plaid. I worked out a scheme by which I put down a light pink base layer, and then used the roller-brush painter on 40 percent opacity. Making that roll in perpendicular directions made it clear just how hard it is to define plausibly perpendicular directions on the shape of a foot, or of a folded arm.
