The war that ended european supremacy and ended the british empire. But also the war that established the US as a leading power. Its also the war that ended the aristocracy in europe and opened channels for democracy, but the economic crisis in the 1930s destroyed those dreams with hitlers rise to power.
p.s. The most intresting thing of WWI is, that it shows how even the highest developed countries can be the most brutal and vile ones in the world.

England wasnt the only one with a king ^^. Well the king back during the day wasnt like the queen in the modern day. Not only were the kings greatly involved in building the armies and controlling the war, but they were extremely important for morale and diplomatic purposes. The king and kaiser were both hard at work vebefore, during, and after the war.
Doesn't change the fact that a force under horrible leadership completely failed on every level, and had to cry back to Fuhrer to bail them out of every fight. I LOVE the Italian military and the airplanes they fielded at the time, and their soldiers were strong and skilled, but that leadership.. Holy fuck was that god awful.
