While his weapon systems aren't all that spectacular, his greatest advantage lies in the ability to look like one of the most popular vehicles around, making it difficult in the extreme to find him in a large city. When a flying robotic pteradon or a metallic felinoid the size of a horse is too obvious, Dakota goes undercover to find the dirt on the autobots.

You have clearly never been to a Mary Kay convention... or for that matter, in any major metropolitian area. Trust me, a pink hybrid is not going to turn heads in most major cities.

Alternately, turn into a 'crotch-rocket' motorcycle, with speed being his primary attribute. Not a whole lot of firepower, but pretty good at zipping around. Particularly if, as in the movie, he can make a hologram 'rider', he wouldn't pick up much notice, Those bikes go up over 120 mph all the time. I could easily see him getting well up over 200 mph if he really wanted to, being about to out-distance most ground-based transformers.
