Well as you can see I replaced the knot on my scale maille tie which I think has largely improved how it looks. I put a japanese pattern for the knot on top of the scales so I think it makes it look more "tie like"
I have already changed the photo of my old tie and replaced it with a differant one with the new knot. So go check it out and see.

Depends on if you are weaving it like me or weaving them leather style. The way I do it is almost the same as standard chainmaille but some of the rings have been replaced with scale. Normally the rings used are split rings which are almost exactly the same as key rings like the type you put your car eys on but they are much smaller. The scales have small holes at the top so you weave the rings through those and then place them on top of eachother so they stack the way the do and don't move.
