Unk in the green mist by VoreLord

The Iksar race used to be slaves and food for a bigger, naga-like race called the Shissar. For thousands of years, Iksars both nourished the Shissar and were their shock troops for the many wars they waged on other races. Then came the coming of the green, a mysterious fog that spewed from a cloudy face in the heavens and literally melted the flesh off the Shissar, extincting them almost overnight.
The Iksar therefore became masters of their own destiny, and yet hated by all the other races because of the tyranny they wrought in wars recent and long past. Yet the arcane knowledge of their master/predators became theirs - the necromantic and shamanistic arts, among others. Iksars prefer to be feared rather than any other emotional response, so they continued their warlike ways.
All the races mark this transition as "A.G." or "After Green." To this day, Iksars are unsure exactly who their supernatural benefactor was, but devote themselves to the worship of Cazic-Thule, The Faceless, the God of Fear. Most of the devout among them believe it was Lord Cazic who rained horrific destruction down on their former masters for they did not follow the true path of terror the Iksars have since dedicated themselves to.
Many Iksars, including Unktehila, have a natural camouflage ability like a chameleon, but Unk tends to like sporting green as a symbol of the supernatural and horrific power that brought his people out from oppression to become instead the oppressors.

I forget how much of that I did. Not everything, to be sure. My Shaman was one of the first Iksars on Luclin server to get The Spear of Fate epic. My beastlord almost solo'd the whole beastlord epic... kind of a lackluster epic. The haste claw was nice, but the other one, feh.
The Iksars live right next to The Swamp of No Hope, which is quite slimy (and filled with Frogloks). So green is a very natural color in their domain. As well, there's the Lake of Ill Omen which is quite verdant in the hills surrounding it, and the forest zone (name slips my mind) also quite dense. Only The Field of Bone is rather deserty and strewn with the remains of long-dead Iksars, Humanoids, Dragons, and so forth. It was once a lake iirc.
