I'm a homo-Toriel!
Congratulations to
yosh-e-o for beating Undertale! :D I was really lookin' forward to him gettin' to play the game and have fun with the motherly goat mom - and was excited for him to enjoy the ending when he got there. B) It all worked out great and he managed it all with his magnifier glass and patience and determination!
I'm super happy for you buddy. :D I'm not sure why we don't just keep this pie in the fridge for when you wake up... maybe we'll wake you up now so you can enjoy it! Maybe I'll... help Toriel make some noise to wake you up with. ;3 Ehehe, great job, buddy!

Hey, Neo! So you played through, too? Neato!
Oh, gracious, no! Even as a kid, I had a hard time killing things I considered "Good Guys", or "Friendly". Even with Mortal Kombat, I'd never do a Fatality on Liu Kang, Nightwolf, Sonya, and others I knew were good guys. It bothered me too much.
How did you feel when you learned about "Execution Points"? I felt downright awful. I don't know if I can ever play an RPG the same way again. They sure took the "Random" out of "Random Encounters" with Undertale.
Also, like you and Nishi, I didn't surmise Toriel's name to be a pun on "Tutorial" until way later. I was too focused on how much she reminded me of Nishi's, Goatella, and how she was so lovable. :)

Oh yeah I did~!
I've been really hype for Undertale since its Demo... That was a while ago! I was so sad in the Demo because I ended up striking Toriel down!! I was devastated!
I think the way Toby dealt with the genre was amazing. I read Undertale as a critique on the entirety of Gaming. It's a call to action to bring back the personal affect that characters can have on the player, to draw attention to what these characters do, why they're in the world, and what they represent. I'm not sure if you know everything about the Genocide or not, but that really digs into this critical reading of the game.
My only critique is that I feel like the game as a whole experience will be lost on players who don't dare do the Genocide run; despite it being so horrible... By becoming a monster, you get to see some of the most heroic exchanges from the characters. (I guess that's what YouTube is for.... but experiencing it first hand sent shivers down my spine in the best way possible) I also kind of wish that the whole Gaster mystery had closure too. Toby really knows how to push peoples' buttons~
As far as characters go, Undyne is my favorite. Her befriending scene is just amazing, and her role in Genocide is absolutely what made me adore her through and through (plus, I kind of have a thing for fish~ so).
I'm super happy you got to play it, what I regard as one of the best RPGs since the SNES era. It really threw me back to those days as a kid, playing games like Lufia 2, Wizardry 5, Earthbound, Secret of Mana; all these games where the story drove the game in ways that just enchanted me into their worlds.
Also, mad respect for him clever juxtaposition of Touhou and RPG as well~

I couldn't ever bring myself to do the "Genocide Run". I'd feel too guilty. My conscience couldn't handle it. So I'll have to hear how it goes from someone who is more strong-willed than I am. (I'm a total wuss since I bond with fictional characters, even plushies. Why I feel and have always felt such remorse non-living things is beyond me, but it's there and I don't see ever being able to shake it.)
This game completely turned how I saw RPGs upside-down. I had played RPGs since the first Dragon Warrior came out for the NES. They all had the same concept of how a Random Encounter was just kind of there for you to build experience. Toby decided to make these not so random and you pay a price for going into the old style of thinking such encounters are meaningless beyond earning Exp. and Gold.
*Pout* I, too, struck down Toriel. I felt super awful when I didn't get the usual catch where, at a certain point, a character would stop the fight and say, "You've proven yourself. Good luck." She genuinely dies! You go up into her house and their is no music and it's empty. That's when I restarted the game and got finked on by Flowey for "Feeling guilty for killing her." Damn flower!
There's too much to love in how this game messes with your head while forcing you to rethink how an RPG can be played. I also loved the Temmies!

D'aww. This is super-duper ultra-mega CUTE! Thanks so-so much, Nishi! *Snugs*
If not for you, I'd have never had the confidence to try playing the game. I was so afraid of being let down as a result of my poor vision. However, you had faith and determination in me. That got me to grow more confident and made me determined to find a way to make things work out. When I found I could play it in a window instead of full-screen, I was so excited! This allowed my magnifier to work for reading the core text while making out the graphics as best as I could.
I wound up putting a total of 40 hours into the game. 40 hours! The last time I put that much time into one game in such a sort span was back when I was in college playing Final Fantasy VII!
Yosh looks so cozy dressed up like Frisk. I don't think he'd mind if a Sansy-like Oxnard woke him up to enjoy the pie. Though, Toriel may not approve of waking him from his nap.
Oxnard looks quite awesome as Sans. He's also a smarty-pants just like him, too. :)
Thanks so much, Nishi! I'm going to save this to my special folder straight away. This is a true treasure to be sure. Thanks also for helping me with all those things I couldn't see in the game. It truly gave me the total experience having someone so special who believed in me to get me through this amazing adventure. *Snugs*

Hehe, when I got to the very end of the game I knew you'd be so happy! So I thought having art of it would make it even neater. And haha, even though you just fiinaly organized all your art, I guess now you have one more piece of adventure that goes in there. :3 I'm glad you had so much fun, and that the small screen option worked out for you too. :D Haha, I might roleplay as Toriel, and Sans, but I like Sans a lot, so I thought it'd be fun gettin' to be in there as your jokey pals and mama watch over ya. ;3 Great work again!
