^^ Some metaphors of a coffeeshop environment that I observed.
Text for those who can't read the file:
Reminded Of
Coffee bin above the counter
Holding dark riches, beans;
You have the brass head
Of a steampunk duck,
And now I can’t stop laughing.
The dead brick starved for sunlight
Aches towards skylight
Restrained by the Blackwood flathead,
Peg-legged; and its troop
Of rib-back, kneeless dogs.
The silver crocodile hides in plain sight
Overhead; square scales glinting, ridged
As a scallop. Its white feet wear
Wooden boots and freeze
Into the floor; remaining stone-still.
The centipede has tiger stripes;
Its black-box cargo weighs
Flattening on its rectangle plates
Of long-body. He has a glass head
And multiples of sugared eyes.
Spinning birds, crazily
Jellyfish lamps, hearts light,
Immortal—not alive—
But I’m still reminded.
