This vintage film starring Capt. Freeagle, Grizzle E. Bear and Pigeon Carrymore was released by the US Army Film Office in 1965 as a propaganda tool for Army recruitment. Even though the communist threat had subsided, Captain Freeagle was seen as a powerful recruiting tool by the government. Movies like "The Red Menace" along with merchandising efforts such as as Captain Freeagle action figures and comic books helped deify the captain and recruit the next generation of soldiers to protect America.
