This is beautiful. The way his anthropomorphic head and shoulders are done is fascinating. The back of the head with the rounded skull join at the atlas vertebra is better than the usual human shaped head with a muzzle on a human shaped furry body. He looks more like an anthropomorphic leopard than a human leopard.

I was going to make the same observation, really like how it was handled here (neck/shoulders).

Naw, it's a guy. Some dudes have incredibly huge pectorals. This is one of em.

I had thought he might be female at first but the hip and shoulder structure is definitely male. I'm one of those males with large pectorals too, though I'm a bit thicker on the middle than this leopard.

I've been looking for this stunning portrait ever since stumbling upon it several times in my search engine.

True to its name, this portrait brings out the best of the humanoid figure, man and leopard combined. The inclusion of the structural sketch lines is an unorthodox but welcome touch, especially since traditional paintings are often made with underlying pencilwork (underneath the overpainting).
