-Escargoyle, a medium snail-like creature of Grimm
Appearance: An average sized Grimm, an Escargoyle typically reaches two meters in length. Possessing three pairs of red antennae, the top pair may reach staggering length. Escargoyle masks tend to have intricate patterns along with four eyes and a frowning mouth. Escargoyle shells are some of the heaviest and most durable shields known to Remnant, being almost indestructible. Thick, curved spines grow along the ridge and red stripes continuing into the helix. Its heavily armoured shell and mask protects the creature when it curls in defence, along with bony fragments along its black, gooey body.
Abilities & Powers: When attacking Escargoyles generate a caustic mucus which induces chemical burns on contact. All pairs of their limps are used for fine motor skills, picking up objects and flinging balls of mucus. Able to stick to any surface, these Grimm are often seen attached to cliff faces and trees rather than being on the ground. Slow yet heavily armoured these slimy creatures are commonly seen near graveyards and battlefields. A completely nocturnal Grimm, Escargoyle's hide in their shells to protect their mucus covered bodies from the sun. Often hiding in tall, dark places.
Name: Its name is a combination of escargot and gargoyle, referring to their snail appearance and tendency to stick on high ledges during the day.
