Let's just say that there is a huge, 15,000 watt xenon arc lamp ripped from an IMAX theater positioned about 3 picometers beyond the top left corner of this simple scene - THAT's why the shadows are so well defined. Going into this I had no intentions of softening the shadows at all - I wanted to take the technique I had tried in the previous piece and run with it some more / push it further. I wanted to work on a) muscles and b) shadows. On the next piece I'll try softening the shadows.
