For moving more rapidly with the help of the thrusters she's got (shoulders, back, legs). It's better than grinding down the feet anyway, and also works better than just running when she's got her big gun.
Those thrusters aren't nearly enough to allow flight, and only allow for very limited hovering, and short blasts to extend jumps and such. Also, she actually gains better mobility with her big gun since that has an internal power supply, and mostly counteracts the added weight that way.
