Sonic the Hedgehog (Genesis version) - Green Hill Zone VRC6
Okay, this one is kind of different. ^^;
Although it is a recover of Green Hill Zone, it is the version from the Genesis version of StH instead of the SMS version.
Also I used the VRC6 chip to include the extra melodies that the SMS version didn’t have. X3
Perhaps someday, I will make another recover if I can use the VRC7 chip. At that point I might have to start offering the NSF file to prove that it is the NES you’re listening too! ^_~

ever time i hear this tune, im reminded of the very first time i picked up
a 3 button black controller, and played my very first 16-bit game
i was so impressed by the SPEED and the COLORS, and the AWESOME music
nice version of the tune you have here ^_^
i was foolin around with a midi of this a while back and got it sounding
almost accurate with my adlib card, and drum samples ripped right out of the game using an emulator... just messing around though, :D
Yup, yup! Specifically the Konami VRC6 chip that was only usable in the Japanese verson of the NES, the Famicom.
The VRC6 added 2 additional square wave channels and 1 sawtooth channel on top of the built in 2 square, 1 triangle, 1 noise, and 1 DPCM.
It was most famously used in the Japanese version of Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse.
