Maybe it's me but... this almost looks like rust! How did you even achieve such an effect like this?
I think that's something I literally cannot learn, sadly. This genius color use. No matter how much I practice...

Almost all layer effects! I believe I used "burn..." That makes the colors semi transparent, but also take on an interesting tone of their own! The actual color used for Vasha was purple, if you can believe that!

I think you can! Like I said, this is almost all due to layers! Next time you mess around with color, experiment with the layer effects; you might be surprised what happens! (sometimes it's hard to pick just one effect...!)

It could possibly still work with color picker! Layer effects like "multiply" and "screen" are great for shading and highlighting respectively!

Hmm, I haven't heard of screen. What exactly does it do?

I don't really know the technicalities... But from what I've seen, it typically makes things lighter and transparent! I remember it because it'd probably be a good effect to use for a glowing TV screen...

Interesting. I typically use Normal, Overlay, Luminosity and Shade. Might have to look into Multiply and Screen.
