Football Cubs episode 21 - All I want for Christmas!
Will every football cub's Christmas wish come true? ^.^
Football primer: Christmas is a very busy time for football players in England - it's traditional to have an extra round of games on Boxing Day, in addition to the usual weekend fixtures (although since Boxing Day is a Saturday this year, we're having extra games on Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday instead). A lot of other countries do the opposite, taking a few weeks' break in the winter and not playing at all, so every now and then foreigners who come into the English league for the first time can be heard complaining in the press that we need a winter break over here too. Liverpool's new manager Jurgen Klopp was the one to do it this year.
Meanwhile, Leicester are still riding high at the top of the league, but their manager and players are still insisting that they're focused solely on the first target of getting 40 points (the traditional number that's usually enough to guarantee not finishing in the bottom three) before they start aiming for anything else. They need two more points from the next 21 games, can they do it? Old enemies Arsenal and Spurs are very keen to beat each other and to better the positions they've so consistently finished the league in for the last decade or so, while Aston Villa haven't won a game since the first day of the season and really need Santa to bring them something good this year...
