All the cats in this belongs to Disney's "The Aristocats".
After the small incidence of Scat Cat having to force feed himself the whole buffet that all of his band members had been making as dinners for themselves, things had been going pretty smoothly for them all.
The Alley Cats band keep themselves hidden inside a small shed in the backward of the mansion, where they were kept hidden all day and then let out during the night while Duchess and her family was sleeping.
During the nights they would often be let inside the big mansion by Scat Cat where they would take the chance to generously enjoy from the big pantry that they had been introduced to the very first time they had set their foot inside. (And Scat Cat having to also join into the gorging, as his added waistline would work as the perfect proof that he was "the only one" that had been having "a late night snack".)
They also took every moment they could to practice their music skills, as that had been Scat Cat's plan from the very start.
First step was to get the whole band back together, and the next one was to invite all the cats that they could to join on what would be "one heck of a performance event!" in this luxurious home.
They had all been sending out letters and putting up flyers (And even created a secret radio channel, thanks to the help of some of their cat fans that happen to be very good in technical stuff.) all over the city, all for the sake of spreading the word of the event.
It didn't matter if he and the rest of them would never get to set their foot into the place again afterwards. He was going to make sure that this evening was going to go to history!
"High Class meeting Low Class! Aristocats meeting Street Cats! The poor commons having fun in the house of the rich! Oh, this is truly going to become a night to remember for ages to come!" Scat Cat said to himself as he was getting himself dressed. (Which now consisted in just putting on his hat and nothing else, as no other clothes could fit his now morbidly obese body.)
Today was the big day. This night was going to be the night when the great concert would be held in the big open dinning halls of the mansion. Over 300 cats have told that they would be there, and there was no turning back now. Whether or not Duchess would approve of this (But would probably give a 100% "NO!" in response.) Scat Cat was going to give the cats of the street one night of getting to live like the higher classes.
"Time to prepare for the big night." he thought as he picked up his trumpet and left his guestroom.
He made his way downstairs when he ran into Thomas O'Malley. (His old buddy that was now married to Duchess.)
"Are you in a hurry for something?" He asked as he took a good look as his constantly expanding friend, and it was really at that point where Thomas could see that old Scat Cat would be a little bigger for each day. ("Still, the kids loves to have him as their personal resting place." he thought to himself.)
"What makes you think that?" Scat Cat asked as he wiped some sweat from his forehead. (Given to him from him trying to run his fat body just before.)
"Since you are carrying your trumpet and all I guess you are on your way to some kind of gig." Thomas said, and pointed at said trumpet that was very visible in Scat Cat's hand.
"Oh yes. Just something small me and the band is doing together." Scat Cat said, feeling safe about himself now.
But looking back at Thomas he saw that his cat buddy had a very confused look on his face. "But how can you and the band be able to meet each other again, just like that?" He asked.
"W-What do you mean?" Scat Cat asked, starting to feel that he might have screwed everything up now.
"When you moved in here with us you told me not only that the band was split up, but also exactly on where every single one of the cats had been heading for now." Thomas said in an almost very detective like manner, and all Scat Cat could do was to gulp of nervousness and hope that he wasn't going to go on. (But he did just that.)
"I could have believed you if you had said it was just you and only one of the band members meeting up, but you said clearly that it was THE WHOLE band you where planning to meet." Thomas said, and started to back Scat Cat into a corner. (Pressing his normally build body into the fat flab of his old friend as he towered over him, making poor Scat Cat feel very small and helpless at the moment.)
Scat Cat couldn't believe how he had managed to mess this up so badly! He was the one who had managed to keep it all a secret even when Duchess had woken up a few nights as he had lead the group inside the mansion, and now he had managed to spoil it all when it was just he and Thomas talking.
"What are you and the band planning?" Thomas asked, while still keeping Scat Cat pinned against the walls.
Feeling his fat getting squished the more Thomas was pressing into him, Scat Cat felt he either could spill the beans, or end up having his belly pressed up over his face!
"We where planning a small gig in your home this evening!" Scat Cat finally said, feeling a little ashamed over not having a great will power then that.
"I knew it! I knew that having you just staying at our place for a visit wasn't something you would do!" Thomas said, feeling both angry and slightly betrayed over finding this out.
Scat Cat knew he had to do something quickly before his friend would go tell Duchess, so he tossed out something from his mouth that he knew would get O'Malley's attention.
"We were planning to have you join us in our performance!" Scat Cat said, and just as he had hoped on it make Thomas stop dead in his track and come back to his friend.
"Me? Playing? With you guys?" He said, not knowing if he was liking this or not.
"Just like in old time sakes. Remember how you where known as the "O' so talented"?" Scat Cat asked, and that brought back sweet memories to Thomas.
When hanging a lot with Scat Cat and the band he too had learnt how to play the trumpet pretty good, and when he and Scat Cat joined forces it was truly something extra in Jazz Music.
"O'Malley and Scat Cat, making music once again. What do you say?" Scat Cat asked Thomas, who was really split now.
He had to be honest with himself and not ignore the fact that living like a high and rich Aristocat could be a little "restraining" at times. There had been days where Thomas just wanted to rip off his bowtie, start traveling across the country by train, and just live life as a feel free and none rules following cat.
If it truly was just for this one night then maybe he could agree with that. (As long as Duchess doesn't finds out.)
"How many cats will be coming to see this?" Thomas asked Scat Cat, (who saw Thomas question as a sheer sign that he was leading towards saying yes), and said "Only a few of our closest friends from the city" while having the fingers on his paw crossed hiding behind his huge frame.
Thomas knew from several events from the past how much a promise from Scat Cat truly was worth (That was, not a whole lot), but the dreams of him getting to perform at least for one night got him to say yes.
"Perfect! If you need any practice before the big night, feel free to borrow my trumpet for the day." Scat Cat said, and as Thomas finally let him go and head back up to the second floor Scat Cat gave himself a pat on back and said "Scat Cat you old fat trickster, you still got it!"
Going up to Scat Cat's room, Thomas saw his trumpet laying on his bed and he decided to give it a go.
Despite not having played this instrument for some years now Thomas still remembered some simple melodies to perform, and pretty soon he was improvising whole songs out of the blue. (Like a real jazz artist.)
This was just as fun as he had remembered it being, and it brought back so many memories of Thomas traveling along side Scat Cat and his band and all of the gigs they did together.
He was so much into it that he didn't notice that he had got the attention to some others living in the house.
Scat Cat's room and the rooms where the family slept wasn't that far away, and why Duchess just tried to ignore the trumpet playing (As she had been pretty used to it going on every day.) the kids immediately started running over to be with their new favorite cat.
Scat Cat had pretty quickly become a favorite for the kids, and when ever they could they would all enjoy laying on top of his big belly while he was playing them some tunes on his trumpet. So when they entered the room and saw that it was in fact their dad playing the instrument they got both a little surprised and happy over how good he was playing.
Thomas on the other hand got scared and panicky when he saw the three kittens in the doorframe (As he feared that there was also the risk of his dear wife finding him like this!) and he asked them what they where doing here.
"We where just hoping to meet Scat Cat, since we heard his trumpet!" Toulouse said.
"But then we instead saw you playing it. (And playing it so good!)" Marie said.
"How can you be so good at playing it?" Berlioz asked.
"And why are you playing first now?" Toulouse asked.
"Are you practicing for something?" Marie asked.
"What?"
"What?"
"What?" They all asked.
Thomas decided despite his better judgment to tell them what Scat Cat and the gang was planning, and he even went so far as to promising that all three of them could join in on the party.
"But you have to make sure to not Duchess (your mom!) finding out what is going on, or else there wont be any party." Thomas said very seriously, and the threat of the party never even going to happen was enough for the three kittens to promise to keep quiet so that their mom wouldn't find out.
"Thanks kids. You really make me so proud in calling you my dream kids!" Thomas said and gave them all a tight hug.
They said "We won't let you down, daddy!" before leaving the room, letting Thomas continue practicing on the trumpet.
With both Thomas and the kids knowing now Scat Cat and his band had a much easier time to prepare the mansion for the late night concert, and every time they needed some form of distraction to keep Duchess from noticing that they are here Thomas and the three kittens had to play their parts.
It could be anything from simply making Duchess look at their way for a second, to having her enter another room, and even have her to never look out at the backyard as that's was where Scat Cat and his band was building up the stage!
It was a really hard work for Thomas and the kids, as none of them could guess just how many times one of the band cats would be in the need of some quick coverage. (Good thing that Duchess already knew about Scat Cat living with them cause they had no idea if they would have been able to hide him from her, especially when he was SOOOO big!)
Finally towards the evening everything was set up.
The stage was set.
The instruments was check and ready.
All that was left now was for the crowd of cats that was their audience to enter the garden and prepare to enjoy the show.
Thomas had been assigned the hardest task of them all, and that was to find a way to keep Duchess from finding out that a huge concert was going to start playing any minute now.
Knowing that the white cat at times liked to have her "Beauty Sleep" Thomas thought of a simple (but yet brilliant) idea to have that works to his advantage.
When she was about to head to bed Thomas suggested her to try out a new way to "Enhance the Beauty".
When she asked what that would be Thomas showed her a sleeping mask and earplugs, saying that "Blocking the senses of sight and sound would help your skin get even more relaxed, and you will wake up even more beautiful then you already are."
Duchess was very fond of the extra compliment she was given by the end of what Thomas said, and she decided to replay his kindness with a small kiss on the lips and then put on her mask and earplugs before heading to bed.
Once she had fallen asleep Thomas made a few stomps and claps to see if the earplugs works, and she didn't seem to hear anything!
With Duchess now peacefully asleep Thomas went down to tell the others that they could start the whole thing now, and getting outside he was slightly shocked over how many was there!
While he had probably expected 10 or 20 cats to attend it seemed to be a bit more like 100-200 or them! (And they where filling out the garden pretty well too.)
Seeing Thomas come back outside Scat Cat and the gang took as the signal that it all went perfect and they started playing their first song.
All the cats that had been gathering in the garden and just been sitting quietly and nice for a pretty long time, now completely let loose and started both dancing and sing along to the music that was being played.
Everyone on the band was jamming out together like they hadn't done this for years now, and they were all truly in their right elements.
When Scat Cat walked up to the edge of the stage and started playing out a Trumpet Solo some of the cats got a little surprised as they knew the stories about Scat Cat's greatness, but they had no idea of just how BIG he was! (Or rather how much he had gained since last time anyone saw him.)
"You know," One cat was saying to another cat as they both watched Scat Cat perform. "I had been visiting America some time ago, and on my visit to New Orleans I went to a restaurant where a big fat alligator was performing!"
"Really? But I'm sure he must have been a lot fatter then old Scat Cat here is." The other cat said jokingly, to which the first cat said in a bit more serious tone "Actually, looking at him here and now I am not so sure about that anymore."
While all of the cats had been giving very strict orders to NOT enter the house and only stay in the garden, one overweight (And slightly drunk) male cat had decided to ignore what he had been told and wanted to find the kitchen to give himself something "fancy" to eat.
It wouldn't have been anything that serious, if it hadn't been that by pure coincidence Duchess also happen to wake up at this point, feeling a bit hungry, and wanting to have a snack just when another cat was in there!
As Duchess entered the kitchen she could see the fat butt of a male cat sticking out as the rest of him was busy looking inside her fridge! At first she thought that it simply was Scat Cat, but having seen his own fat behind in this exact same pose for many times now had given her a pretty good memory image of how exactly his bottom looked like, and she could tell that it was A LOT bigger then the one she was looking at now!
With a loud "Uh, Uhrm!" Duchess made herself heard, and the mystical cat first ended up hitting his head inside the fridge before pulling himself out and being forced to stand eye to eye with the house's owner.
"And may I ask what a complete stranger such as yourself is doing in my home?!" Duchess asked in a very upset manner.
"Oh! I...was just taking a quick snack before going back to the show." The cat said, hoping that saying the truth was going to make her let him keep the food.
"Wait. What show?" Duchess asked confused.
"The big concert that Scat Cat and his band is performing right now out here." The fat hungry cat said.
(Something to mention here is that Duchess had still been wearing her earplugs since she woke herself up, but hasn't felt like taking them out yet. She had for the whole conversation been able to hear what the other cat had been saying (If slightly more muffled, but it could also have been from the cat having his mouth full of food while talking.), but she hadn't been able to hear a single tone from the loud concert just outside of where they were standing.)
So taking them out now Duchess immediately started to hear the trumpets, and drums, and piano music jamming for full force in her backward, and she was NOT going to let it keep going any longer!
In the meantime everyone else was having a blast!
Scat Cat and his band was doing what they loved doing the most.
The kids had lots of fun staying up late and dancing to the music.
And Thomas was just happy to see that everyone else was having a good time. (Even forgetting the reason he had been helping Scat Cat in the first place.)
But Scat hadn't forgot it as after finishing their next song he announced that they had "A special guest performance!"
All of the cats in the audience got very excited over who this could be, and even Thomas was a little unsure if this was actually happening now.
"I would like to lend over my beloved trumpet for a short time to a cat that I have known for many years, and that hasn't been on a stage for about as long as I have been having somewhat of a figure." Scat Cat said and patted his very large midsection, getting a good laugh from many of the cats watching them.
"But I would like you all to give a big strong applaud to my friend Thomas or as he was called back in the day, The O' so Talented!"
Thomas then entered the stage, and admittedly got a little stage frighten, as even when he had been performing in the past he had never done it for a crowd this big!
But as soon as he was handed the trumpet and started to play he started to feel a lot more calmer. The sweet jazz music and the other's enjoying him playing it made him feel a lot like he was "A part of the family".
As he was playing Duchess came out and saw what was going on.
She was first shocked and angry by what Thomas and Scat Cat had been planning behind her back, but as she was marching towards the stage she started to feel a bit more "soft".
Looking to her side as she walked closer to the stage she could see all of these other cats looking like they where a part of something big together. She could tell by how they looked and what pieces of cloths they where wearing that many of them wasn't even from Paris. (Some of them even had the flag from their own countries in their hands, as they waved them during this harmonic performance.)
Walking a little bit further Duchess also spotted her own kids in the crowd, also looking so happy and like they where having the time of their life.
And looking back at Thomas playing she could hear that it wasn't even a "wild" jazz song he was playing, but more something slow and really "enchanting". (It almost felt like it was a romantic piece that he was playing just for her!)
Feeling a whole lot more guilty now over acting so strict before over having Scat Cat and his friends here Duchess decided to tell them how sorry she was, and she knew just how to tell it.
Just as Thomas was on the final notes of his performance Duchess decided to get up on the far end of the stage, and started to walk up to him from behind! While many of the cats in the crowd (And Scat Cat and his band) noticed it, they where to curious on what was going to happen to say anything as the strange (But good looking) female cat was getting closer and closer to the performer.
When Thomas had finally finished his song he was expecting some applauses, but found strangely that almost everybody was just silent to him.
Just when he was about to ask what was going on he heard a slow clap from behind him, and a voice saying "I didn't know you could play the trumpet so good."
Turning around Thomas almost fell of the stage as he saw that it was his wife standing there, and not laying in bed sleeping as he thought!
He felt caught and was on his way to explain what he had done, but Duchess raised a finger to silence him before saying "No. I have something I need to say first."
She then took Thomas place in the spotlight on the stage and said, "For about 2-3 months now a dear friend to my husband Thomas has been living with me and my family. Someone that I at first wasn't very fond of to put it lightly. His name is Scat Cat and at first I though that all he was going to do at our place was to hang around, eat a lot, and get really fat."
"Are you sure that wasn't what happen?" A random cat from the crowd shouted as a joke, but he got immediately told by the ones next to him to be quiet.
"And when I saw this concert that he and his band had been putting up in secret I was first very furious over the tricks they played behind my back...but that was when I saw you, and how much fun you where having." Duchess said, and then made signs for Scat Cat to join her and Thomas up front.
"Scat Cat. Seeing the collective spirit we have here, and this very romantic performance by my close love one..." Duchess said and gave Thomas a small wink, making the cat blush a little in return. "...shows that you are not some scabby lazy cat, but a true artist who knows how to unite others with your sweet music."
Duchess then hold Scat Cat's one paw as she said, "If you and your band ever would want to stay at our house for some time (Or maybe even put up a new performance), I will always have my doors open for you."
This announcement was received with lots of cheers from the audience, and Scat Cat said "I-I don't really know what to say to this."
"Oh, and I forgot to mention that you will have full right to eat anything from our fridge if you would ever get hungry." Duchess added, making Scat Cat first look like he thought she was pulling his tail for a moment, but when understanding that she was telling the truth he jokingly said "Did you say anything, or Everything?"
Duchess just laughed at his little joke and said "I'm not sure even your appetite and belly could store everything we have.", to which the fat jazz cat lifted his big belly with both his paws, let it drop to the ground, and then said "I think I will take that as a challenge then."
Thinking that there had been enough talking now the cats in Scat Cat's band started jamming up another act, and while Scat Cat took back his trumpet and started playing Thomas offered Duchess a dance on the stage to show his love for her.
And with that a new tradition of having once every year a special "Backward" concert by the Duchess's mansion was made. And with that became also the added tradition of having Scat Cat always topping his own eating habits, and for the real veterans in the audiences that came every year they could tell that the jazz legend was only getting "Bigger" and "Greater" for each year.
Will everything work out, and will Scat Cat get any fatter?
