Another comm, this time the first finished piece of a friend's character. Before this, she didn't exist visually anywhere but our heads.

This is Obsidian, a Steven Universe gemsona! Originally a Homeworld Gem, she ends up on Earth somehow and finds it much more interesting to explore, along with her bff Topaz (who is my own gemsona). She's basically a smol shadow, but for the yellow sash that matches Topaz' colors as a representation of their friendship.

A test in black-on-black and dark-hue shading, using tints to differentiate black layers without going too light or dark on anything. The tints were the blue and green of the colors typically reflected on obsidian glass (and which are used in the highlights as well).

This style isn't really typical for me, but it's simple and fun~
