Just some random dirty wolf paws. He has no pads, and the fur on his soles is a darker shade of grey since he's been walking around barepaw all day.

Yup. When I walk around barefoot for a while, my feet get pretty dirty. So I imagined that it should be the same for all the other creatures that like to walk barepaw. Though instead of getting completely black, its just a darker shade of their fur color.
And might I also add, that is a very nice looking icon you have there. Very nice looking paw. :)
