The British Royal Navy was accustomed to the traditional method of fighting through the early to mid 18th century, by way of firing at ships in a straight line. The British were known for their impeccable formations, firing at point blank to hole ships, and for having a fast firing rate, something that prevented any major British Naval defeat up until after the 7 Years War.
